While the "hands looking out into space" principle is certainly a an integral part of our routine, there's no doubt that the trust of Rotary has been growing and more people are forming acquaintances in person. However, the nature of Rotary is changing. The months that will lead up to summer 2021, there's still a lot of uncertainty regarding the way we'll provide support to our community, which is based on the human connections enjoyed by Rotary members of old. However, it is evident that the mantra of hands-on-face remains a part of Rotary's routine. Rotary has changed. Rotary networks help to build lasting friendships. We've honed our methods of holding the business meetings online while introducing service and social activity using a friendly face-toface approach. The new possibilities have been combined with the best practices for preventing pandemics to help create a brand new and promising outlook for Rotary. In a recent Rotary survey, we were encouraged to find that 75% of clubs are making plans for their "business as usual' events" The summer months saw many of our club members on the move, focusing on initiatives such as river and beach cleans litter picking, and of course our ongoing support to the society of Rotary volunteers who volunteer their time and energy to help COVID testing and vaccination centers.
